Research Interests
Emergence and evolution of socially relevant pathogens. Environmental mediators of epidemic manifestations and outcomes at the molecular, cellular, and social levels. Modeling and simulation that allow one to address questions of pathogen evolution, emergence, and spread encompassing these three levels of mediators.
Current Projects
Currently, I am constructing an agent-based model of HIV spread and evolution throughout the body of a single human. Techniques employed for the HIV model are also being applied toward construction of a model of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV).
